St. Thomas Aquinas College's Darwin Almonte was named the East Coast Conference Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday following the Spartans latest meet, the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic, which took place this past weekend in Massachusetts.
Almonte (Haverstraw, N.Y.) won the 200 meter dash in a time of 21.46, while also hitting the NCAA Division II Provisional mark and placed second in the 60 meter hurdles in a time of 8.17, while setting a new program mark at the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic. Both times are the fastest recorded in those events for an ECC athlete.
STAC returns to action on Friday, February 6 at the Rutgers University Scarlet Knight Open, which will be contested at the historic 168th Street Armory in New York City.
