St. Thomas Aquinas College's Emmanuel Mena Jimenez was named the East Coast Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week on Monday, after the Spartans took part in the Ramapo College T&F Invitational last Friday and Saturday in Mahwah, New Jersey.

Mena Jimenez (West Haverstraw, N.Y.) took a pair of victories in the discus and hammer throw events at the Ramapo College Invitational. His discus throw of 51.69m and hammer toss of 57.86m were both NCAA Division II Championship Provisional Qualifying marks. The hammer throw also set a new school record. Emmanuel finished fourth in the shot put (13.95m), as well.

STAC next competes at The College of New Jersey Invitational on Saturday, April 8 at the TCNJ Track Complex in Ewing, N.J.
