Emmanuel Mena Jimenez and Skylar Moreno Take Home ECC Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week Honors

St. Thomas Aquinas College's Emmanuel Mena Jimenez and Skylar Moreno were named East Coast Conference Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week respectively on Monday, following the Spartans participation in the Wagner College Invitational last Friday on Staten Island.

Mena Jimenez (So./West Haverstraw, N.Y.) set a new school record in the weight throw, with a first place toss of 18.40m/60'4.5". In addition, the mark was good for first in the ECC this season and hit an NCAA Championship Provisional Mark. He also took a seventh-place finish in the Shot Put, with a throw of 14.31m/46'11.5".

Moreno (Gr./Congers, N.Y.) Moreno took a seventh place finish in the 800 Meter Run, clocking in at 2:26.89. She also helped lead her 4x400 Meter Relay team to a ninth place finish with a time of 4:45.90.

STAC will next host its annual Spartan Invitational, which takes place on Friday, January 13 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island. Events are scheduled to get underway beginning at 12:00 p.m.
