St. Thomas Aquinas College's Emmanuel Mena Jimenez was named the East Coast Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week on Monday, after the Spartans participated in the Monmouth University Winter Collegiate Invitational last weekend in West Long Branch, N.J. 

Mena Jimenez (West Haverstraw, N.Y.) broke the school record (for the third time this season) in the weight throw, with a toss of 18.99m (62'3.75") to win the event at the Monmouth University Winter Collegiate Invitational. The toss was good for an NCAA provisional mark, as well. The sophomore thrower also placed sixth in the shot put with a hurl of 14.19m (46'6.75").

STAC next returns to action at the Rutgers University Scarlet Knights Open on Friday, February 3 at the 168th Street Armory in New York City.
