St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Track & Field standout, St. Jacob Diodonet, competed in the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships on Friday in Pittsburg, Kansas.
No stranger to NCAA Championships, Diodonet, the junior sprinter from West Milford, NJ has now taken part in three consecutive indoor national meets. Saint took to the track in two events, becoming the first Spartan to ever take part in multiple events in the same national championship. In the 400 Meter Dash, Diodonet finished 16th with a time of 48.65, while placing 15th later in the day in the 200 Meter Dash, clocking in at 21.64.
In addition to his day of competition, St. Jacob made news off of the track, as he was named the East Coast Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year. He also received First Team All-Conference honors in the following events: 60 Meter Dash, 200 Meter Dash, 400 Meter Dash, 4x400 Meter Relay.
Didonet will now rejoin his teammates, as the Spartan Outdoor Track & Field Season gets underway in Miramar, Florida beginning March 14th with the Nova Southeasten University Shark Invitational, followed by the University of Miami Hurricane Invitational on March 16th in Coral Gables.
