The St. Thomas Aquinas College Track & Field team ended their spring break trip to Florida with record setting performances at the Hurricane Invitational hosted by the University of Miami.
On the Friday night portion of the meet, Meaghan Ventarola beat her own school record in the 3000 Steeplechase with a 1st place finish and a new school record time in the event with a time of 11:16.79. Cecelia Pfleging also hit a new personal record in the event with a time of 12:07.98. Tristan Holmgren took 3rd overall in the High Jump with a jump of 1.95m (6'4.75).
On Saturday the Men's 4x100 team of Frankie Schiavone, Winslow Dorsainvil, Ricardo Reid, and Saint-Jacob Diodonet ran a new school record time of 42.54. In the 400 Meters, Saint-Jacob Diodonet ran a time of 47.84 to take 2nd in the event overall. Saint also tied the outdoor school record in the 200 with a time of 21.73. Winslow Dorsainvil took 10th overall in the 100 meters by running a time of 10.75 and then ran 22.15 in the 200. Vinny Vazquez ran a new college best time in the 1500 with a time of 4:08.45 and finishing 3rd overall.
In the 1500 Kristen Borriello ran a new personal best time and new school record time of 4:42.72 finishing in 2nd place. Meaghan Ventarola took 6th overall in the 1500 with a time of 4:55.83. Molly Conner also had a new school record time in the 100 hurdles by running a time of 16.38. Katie Mollahan finished in 8th place overall in the shot put with a throw of 11.03m (36'2.25).
The Spartans will next compete at the Ramapo College Invite on 4/1-4/2.
