Spartans Compete at Ramapo Indoor Select Meet

The St. Thomas Aquinas Track & Field program raced at the Ramapo College Indoor Select Meet on Saturday.  Against some of the the top Division I and II competition in the country, the men finished in 13th place out of 28 and the women finished in 15th place. 

The Spartans were lead by the performances of Mohamed Ifthikar and Winslow Dorsainvil.  Ifthikar came out in his first time doing the triple jump this season and jumped a new school record and personal best with a jump of 13.14m (43'1.5).  He then jumped a new school record and personal best in the Long jump of 6.58m (21'7.25).  Winslow Dorsainvil also had a good day winning the preliminary heats of the 60 in 6.86 and coming back into the finals taking the event with a time of 6.81 winning the 60 meter competition. 
On the Ladies side, Gabriela Sloezen broke her school record time in the 400 by running 58.61 to take 5th in the Ramapo College Indoor Select Meet.  The Lady Spartans DMR team of Meaghan Ventarola, Gabby Sloezen, Allison Borriello, and Kristen Borriello took 3rd overall in the event with a time of 12:31.29.


The Spartans had a quick turnaround with their next competition the next day at the CTC Championships.
