The St. Thomas Aquinas Track & Field team took the track at Penn Relays to take on top-notch collegiate competitors.  While the men have run at the event over the past few seasons, this marked the first year the women competed. 

The women's team competed on Thursday in the 4x400 with a team of Allison Borriello, Gina Funaro, Rebecca Fortoul, and Gabriela Sloezen.  They finished 8th in the heat in a time of 4:21.07.  On the men's side the 4x100 team of Ed Oswald, Mike Abelard, Frankie Colon, and George Erazo ran a time of 43.57.  The team of Matt Buell, Garvenchy Nicolas, Mike Kraus, and George Erazo took 7th in their 4x800 heat at Penn Relays with a time of 3:26.91.

The Spartans are competing this weekend in the ECC Championships which will be held at Farmingdale State on Saturday and at Queens College on Sunday.
