Senior sprinter, Mike Abelard, ended his career the way it started...with a USTFCCCA All Region Award in the 100 meters.  He currently holds  school records in the 55 meter, 60 meter, 100 meter, 200 meter (Indoor and Outdoor), 4x100 meter and the 4x400 meter.

The award caps off a great career for Mike Abelard where he has received All-Region nominations since his freshman year.  In his 4 years at St. Thomas Aquinas, Abelard was ranked in the Top 25 in both the 60 meters and 200 meters for the indoor season and was a perennial all-region member for indoor and outdoor. He was one of the key members of the successful Spartan sprinting team and was one of Coach Marcus first recruits along with classmate Rich Ricca.
