The Spartan Track & Field program competed at the East Coast Conference Indoor Championships on Saturday at St. Anthony's High School in Huntington, NY.  The Men's team finished just four points behind Molloy College earning a second place finish overall.  Nineteen members of the team earned All-Conference Honors.

On the men's side some of the standouts include junior George Erazo who scored 38 points by himself by winning the 400 meters, taking 2nd in the 200 meters, and helping both the 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams win their events.  Senior Mike Abelard scored 30 points in his final collegiate indoor track meet by winning the 60 meters, 200 meters and anchoring the 4x200 team to victory.  Classmate Garvenchy Nicolas also scored 30 points in winning the 800 and by helping the DMR and 4x400 win in the relays. Junior Matt Buell scored 28 points for the Spartans by winning the 1000, winning the DMR relay and taking second in the 4x800. Senior Rich Ricca took 3rd in the 60, 5th in the 200 and was on the 4x200 meter relay that won. Junior Frankie Colon also had a good day by taking 3rd in the 400 meters. Sophomore Ed Oswald took 3rd in the High Jump.  Junior Mike Galonski took 3rd in the 5000 and 5th in the 3000.  Sophomore Jospeh Chegwidden took second in the 3000 and ran with the DMR team that won the championship.  Freshman Joseph Capolino took 2nd in the 5000.

On the women's side, the DMR team of Keeley Bateman, Gabriela Sloezen, Rebecca Fortoul and Meagan Jaskot took 1st place in the conference.  Junior Bateman also took 3rd in the 1000 and 5th in the 800. Freshman Jaskot took 3rd in the 3000.  Freshman Gabriela Sloezen took 4th in the 400 and helped the 4x400 take 6th.  Freshman Cecelia Pfleging also took home a 3rd place finish in the mile.
