Spartans Run at UPENN Invitational

The St. Thomas Aquinas Track & Field Team had another successful day in Philadelphia at the University of Pennsylvania Invitational.  Sophomore George Erazo continiued to add to his phenomenal season taking first place overall in the 400m.

Erazo crossed the line in 48:25 ahead of all 29 competitors to take the line in his event.  Junior Mike Abelard also ran very well at the meet clocking in at 10.92 in the 100m, placing 5th out of 20 competitors.  He continued to shine in the 200m in 20.04 which was good for 4th out of a field of 29.  In the 800, classmante Garvenchy Nicolas ran 1:57.53 placing him 11th overall out of a 33.

On the women's side freshmanKaitlyn Mancini bettered her personal record time in the 200m with a time of 26.78 placing her 15h overall in the meet.  Mancini also ran the 100m in 13.18 placing her 14th overall.  Sophomore Keeley Bateman ran the 800m in 2:22.46 placing her 10th overall in the 800.

The Spartan runners will be competing on Monday at the St. John's Monday Meeting and will also compete on Saturday at the Rider Invitational.
