In the last USTFCCCA Division II Regional Ranking of the Indoor Track Season the Spartan Men's Track & Field Team finished 9th in the East region while the Lady Spartans finished 15th.
Some highlights of the season include junior Mike Abelard's 5th place finish the region in the 60m with a time 7.01 and 6th in the region in the 200m with a time of 21.84. Sophomore George Erazo finished 7th in the region in the 400m in a time of 48.92. The 4x400 relay team of Erazo, Abelard, Frankie Colon and Alex Andre finished 5th in the region with a time of 3:23.48. The Distance Medley Relay Team of Andre, Erazo, Garvenchy Nicolas and Matt Buell finished 7th in the region with a time of 10:53.28.
For the Lady Spartans, highlights include Chelsea Klinger finishing 5th in the region in the pentathalon. The Distance Medley Relay team of Klinger, Keeley Bateman, Catherine Sandkuhl, and Ashley Stokkeland finished 8th in the region with a time 13:07.40
On the National level George Erazo and Mike Abelard missed the cuts for this year's Nationals finishing 25th in the nation for Erazo and 32nd in the nation for Abelard in their respective events. They will now set their sights on qualifying for and competing in Division II Nationals in the Outdoor Season which is in Colorado this spring.
