The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Track & Field Team finished in 2nd place in the Collegiate Track Conference Championship this weekend at DeSales University. Two men and four women were named to the CTC All-Conference 1st team.
To set the pace for the meet, sophomore Mike Galonski took a 2nd place finish in 10,000 meter run in a time of 34:16.36 on Saturday. The rest of the team competed on Sunday where Mike Abelard then took 1st overall in the 100m in 10.93 and 11.12 in the finals He also took 1st place in the 200m with a time of 22.00. Erazo took 2nd place honors in the 100 meters with a time in the finals of 11.26, then took second in the 200m with a time of 22.46. He followed up with another successful run taking 1st place in the 400m with a time of 50.78. Junior Garvency Nicolas took 2nd in the 800 meters in a time of 2:01.22. In the 3000 meter steeplechase, freshman Joe Chegwidden took 2nd place in a time of 10:04.83.
In the relays, the men's 4x100 team of sophomore Frankie Colon, Abelard, junior Rich Ricca and Erazo took a 2nd place finish with a time of 43.70. The Men's 4x400 team of Colon, Erazo, Abelard and freshman Russell Ross took second place honors in a time of 3:35.99. The 4x800 team of Nicolas, Matt Buell, Alex Andre and Mike Kraus took 3rd overall in a time of 8:22.68.
Other scorers include Galonski in the 5000 meter run in a time of 16:28.98 and Buell in the 1500m with an 8th place finish in a time of 4:13.98. Andre took a 7th place finish in the 800m with a time of 2:02.98, while Colon also took 4th in the Triple Jump in a jump of 12.19m.
The Lady Spartan's also competed very well. Bateman took 2nd overall in the 800m in a time of 2:23.36. Sandkuhl took 3rd in the 800 with a time of 2:26.27. Freshman Ashley Weintraub took 6th overall in the 3000 meter steeplechase in a time of 14:28.33. The Lady Spartans 4x400 relay team of Bateman, Sandkuhl, Stokkeland and Klinger took 1st overall in a time of 4:25.55.

The Spartans will be competing Thursday and Friday at Penn Relays and then finish off the season the next week at the ECC-CACC Challenge.
