On Friday, the St. Thomas Aquinas Track & Field Team shoed their depth at the Molloy College Invitational. Four Spartans won their individual events while two new school records were set by the jumpers.
On the Men's side junior Mike Abelard won the 200m in a time of 22.98 beating the next best person by .60 seconds. Sophomore George Erazo also won his individual event the 400 meter dash with a time of 49.01 winning by 2 seconds to the next fastest person. Freshman Joe Chegwidden won the 3000 meter dash with a new personal best of 9:02.97. On the relay side the 4x800 team of Erazo, Garvenchy Nicolas, Mike Kraus, and Alex Andre won in a time of 8:17.82. Dan Davren hit a new school record in the High Jump with a jump of 5'10 and Frankie Colon also hit a new school record in the long jump with a jump of 21'00.75.
On the Women's side freshman Catherine Sandkuhl won the 400m in a time of 1:02.41. Classmates Kaitlyn Mancini took 2nd in the 200m with a time of 27.58 and Ashley Stokkeland took 3rd in the 55m with a time of 7.79.
The next meet for the Spartans is the Last Chance meet at the Armory Track & Field Center.
