The St. Thomas Aquinas Track & Field runners competed at the Last Chance Meet at the Armory in NYC on Thursday. Sophomore George Erazo took 3rd overall in the 400m with a time of 48.65. Junior Mike Abelard ran a 22.67 finishing 11th overall in the 200m.
Erazo was the top collegiate runner in his event. Junnior
Garvenchy Nicolas hit an indoor personal best in the 800 with a
time of 2:00.40 which took 13th overall.
For Abelard and Erazo it is now a waiting game to see if they get
into Division II Nationals. Both individuals did hit the
qualifying times for nationals in their respective events, but we
must wait and see how many athletes the National Committee will
take to Minnesota this year.
