SPARTAN MEN SET SIGHTS ON PENN RELAYS
Philadelphia PA – The Spartan men will be setting their sights this week for the prestigious University of Pennsylvania Penn Relays Carnival on Friday, April 23rd. The Penn Relays Carnival attracts countless track & field athletes from all over the globe, on all levels, from high school, to college, to professionals. And among the elite will be the Saint Thomas Aquinas College men’s 4x400-meter relay team.
The Spartan men will have arguably the best 4x400-meter relay team that Saint Thomas Aquinas College has ever seen. The team consists of Freshman Mike Abelard (Ramapo, NY), Senior Chris Muniz (Suffern, NY), Senior Einar Brissing (Nanuet, NY), and Senior Vinny Modafferi (Clarkstown South, NY). All Rockland County athletes, these men will be fighting for victory at Penn Relays, and certainly have the ability to post a solid performance.
This exact team has hit a time of 3:26.88 at the Richard Stockton Invitational, STAC Track & Field’s season opener. At Penn, the Spartans plan on shattering that time and hopefully breaking the previous school record of 3:17.
The men compete on Friday at 4:40 PM.
