The St. Thomas Aquinas College Softballl team has earned the #5 seed in the East Regional of the 2025 NCAA Division II Softball Tournament and will take on #4 Bentley University.

St. Thomas Aquinas qualified for its third consecutive trip to the field of 64 on the strength of a 30-19 overall record. The Spartans made it to the East Coast Conference Tournament Championship round for the fourth time in the last five season, but were denied a their third consecutive title by D'Youville University (GM1: 5-1/GM2: 1-0). Eight bids were awarded in the region with champions from the ECC (D'Youville), Northeast-10 (Pace), and Central Atlantic (Wilmington) capturing automatic bids and the others issued on an at-large basis.
The Spartans (30-19, 16-4 ECC) and Falcons (24-19, 12-8 NE10) met twice during 2025 regular season, with the squads facing off on the diamond in Clermont, Florida in a doubleheader on March 9. Each side registered a victory over the other, with Bentley taking a 4-2 extra innings decision in the opener, before STAC responded with a 7-3 triumph in the game two.
First Round games will begin on Thursday, March 8 with one East Region Bracket being held at top-seed Pace University in Pleasantville, New York and the other taking place at No. 3 Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington, Delaware.
The winners from each East Region bracket will battle in super regional competition, May 15 & 16. The East Region Champion will then make their way to Frost Stadium at Warner Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee for the Division II Finals, May 22-28.
