Sparkill, N.Y. - A pair of St. Thomas Aquinas College softball players have earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-East Region distinction, as Eliana Raposo (Wareham, Mass.) scored First Team honors and Sarah Clancy (Chino Hills, Calif.) took home Second Team accolades on Thursday.
Raposo, the ECC Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference pick, has delivered a stellar season to date and leads her team in batting average (.403), slugging percentage (.755), hits (64), home runs (14), doubles (14) and runs scored (51), while hitting in near the top of the batting order. She became the first STAC player in program history to win the conference's Player of the Year award twice.
Clancy, who won the Pitcher of the Year in 2024, was named the league's Co-Pitcher of the Year and a First Team All-Conference selection this season. She currently holds a 17-11 overall record with a 3.13 ERA and 111 strikeouts. As the game one starter for most of the Spartans' doubleheaders this campaign, Clancy leads pitching staff in appearances (30), wins (17), complete games (21), innings pitched (167.2), opponent batting average against (.251) and Ks (111).
STAC makes its third straight NCAA East Regional Tournament appearance on Thursday, May 8, taking on Bentley University at the Pace University Softball Field in Pleasantville, New York. First pitch between the fourth-seeded Falcons and the fifth-seeded Spartans is set for 2:00 p.m.
