Sparkill, N.Y. - A pair of St. Thomas Aquinas College softball players have earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Second Team All-East Region selections, as Sarah Clancy (Chino Hills, Calif.) and Eliana Raposo (Wareham, Mass.) received the distinction on Thursday.
Clancy's pitching brilliance, earned her the ECC Pitcher of the Year, First Team All-Conference accolades, and has placed her among the leaders nationally among approximately 600 pitchers in the NCAA Division II circuit. Currently, she is fourth in the nation in games started (30), sixth in all of Division II in both complete games (25) and appearances (39) and 28th nationally with 20 wins. She has compiled a record of 20-10 with three saves and an earned run average of 2.63, while mowing down 162 opposition hitters in 210.2 total innings to date.
Raposo, the ECC co-Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference pick, delivered for the Spartans as a hitter and pitcher. At the plate, she leads the team in batting average (.380), on-base percentage (.426), slugging percentage (.649), home runs (8) and doubles (14), while hitting in near the top of the batting order. In the circle, she has compiled a 3.55 earned run average on the way to a 13-11 record. In 150 innings, she has struckout 63 batters.
