St. Thomas Aquinas College Softball pitcher Carissa Della Vecchia was named the East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday, following the Spartans 3-2 week on the diamond, with victories over D'Youville and Queens
Della Vecchia (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) earned two complete-game victories last week over the Saints and Knights and tossed an additional 8.0 innings against Molloy in a game suspended due to darkness. The graduate student lefty allowed 12 hits and two runs over 22.0 innings for a 0.63 ERA, while walking just five and fanning 30.
STAC (14-9, 7-2 ECC) next hosts Alliance University on Tuesday (April 11) in a non-conference doubleheader that starts at 2:30 p.m.
