St. Thomas Aquinas College's Carissa Della Vecchia has been named the East Coast Conference Softball Player of the Week on Monday, following the Spartans' 2-0 week on the diamond.
Della Vecchia hit .429 (3-for-7) over two games last week for STAC, hitting a home run, while picking up two RBI and four runs scored. She also tossed a no-hitter in her only appearance in the circle, going 5.0 innings with one walk and nine strikeouts in a run-rule shortened 9-0 win over Staten Island.
STAC next meets Mercy College on Thursday in a East Coast Conference doubleheader that begins at 2:30 p.m. at Spartan Field.
