Keaveney, Landolina & Sadler Receive ECC Softball All-Conference Recognition

St. Thomas Aquinas College Softball players Briana Keaveney, Ashley Landolina and Melissa Sadler were named East Coast Conference Second Team All-Conference selections on Friday.

Keaveney posted a .271 batting average, going 39-for-144 at the plate, with 8 RBIs and 20 runs scored, while starting in 42 Spartan Softball contests during the 2017 season. Briana also contributed three doubles, three triples, a homer and was walked six times by opposing pitchers, while putting up a .305 on-base percentage, a .354 slugging percentage and a .659 on-base percentage plus slugging.

In the circle, Briana posted a record of 7-12 with a 3.42 ERA in 23 appearances (19 starts) for St. Thomas Aquinas College. In 133.0 innings pitched she struck out 68 opposing batters, while only walking 26 and finished 2018 with a 1.35 WHIP.

The junior pitcher/left fielder from New City, N.Y. also posted a .922 fielding percentage, while making only 5 errors during the entire season.

 

Landolina, the team's leading hitter, posted a .402 average, going 53-for-132 at the dish, with six doubles, three triples and 5 home runs in 39 games played. Ashley also had 20 RBIs and 31 runs scored, while opponents walked her 4 times, and put up a .437 on-base percentage, a .606 slugging percentage and a 1.043 on-base percentage plus slugging.

The sophomore shortstop from Tolland, Conn. also posted a .917 fielding percentage, while making 14 errors during the season.

 

Sadler, who joined the squad after the Spartan Women's Basketball team's historic postseason run, did not miss a beat as she hit .351 (33-for-94) in 32 games played for STAC. Missy also contributed seven doubles, a triple, 8 RBIs, 18 runs scored and was walked six times, while putting up a .390 on-base percentage, a .447 slugging percentage and a .837 on-base percentage plus slugging.

The sophomore center fielder from Milton, N.Y. also posted a stingy .932 fielding percentage, while making 4 errors during the 2018 campaign.
