The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team fell to Dowling College, 6-4 and 8-7 on Thursday afternoon.  Megan Sweezy and Katie Meyers each hit 2-run homeruns in the second game of the day.  Meyers also had a 2 run homerun late in game one to score STAC's final two runs.

In game two, STAC's come from behind attack fell short as the scored two runs in both the 6th and 7th innings.  Meyers had her first 2-run homer of the day in the 7th to bring the Lady Spartans within two but it was not enough.  Toni Ann Groth had a RBI double in the 6th for STAC.

Game two saw four lead changes, capped off by a 3-run 7th inning for the Golden Lions to edge STAC, 8-7.  Alisa Cippola was 2-for-3 with 3 RBI, including a 2-run double in the 4th.  Jamie McCormick was 2-for-4 along with Sweezy and Meyers. 

The Lady Spartans will play at LIU Post on Saturday at 12:00 pm.
