The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost to NYIT, 4-0 and 6-5 on Tuesday afternoon.  The Bears came back in the 7th inning of game two to earn the win over STAC.  Megan Sweezy was 3-for-7 for the day and Shelby Coyle hit a 2-run home run in game two.

In game two, STAC held onto a 1-0 lead going into the 3rd inning when Jamie McCormick led off with a walk.  Coyle's first homer run of the season gave STAC a 3-0 lead.  The Bears answered with a 3-run inning in the 4th and took the lead in the 5th off an RBI double by Andrianna Valencia.  The Lady Spartans did not go away quietly as McComrick's 2-RBI single gave them back the lead.  The Bears finished strong adding runs in the 6th and 7th to steal the win. 

Earlier in the day, McCormick and Alisa Cipolla each had a hit for the Spartans.  Maura Power had the loss on the mound striking out six batters.

STAC will face Molloy on Wednesday.
