St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Volleyball player Jakob Schwarz was named the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday, following the Spartans 2026 regular season finale against Roberts Wesleyan University last weekend.

Schwarz (Mainz, Germany) recorded 18 kills, five digs and a block assist over five sets in 3-2 road loss to the Redhawks last Saturday. The STAC freshman opposite hitter also held a .186 hitting percentage for the match.

STAC (11-13, 4-2 ECC) is No. 2 seed in the upcoming ECC Men's Volleyball Tournament, which gets underway on Friday, April 24 at Voller Gymnasium (Roberts Wesleyan University) in Rochester, New York. The Spartans will take on No. 3 Dominican University in the semifinal round at 4:00 p.m.
