St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Volleyball players Kyran Versteegen and Jakob Schwarz were each selected for the East Coast Conference's weekly awards on Monday, following the Spartans matches against Fairleigh Dickinson University and Princeton University last week.
Versteegen was tabbed as the ECC Player of the Week, while Schwarz scored ECC Rookie of the Week kudos.
Versteegen (Sittard, Netherlands) recorded 37 kills, two serve assists, three service aces, eight digs, and six block assists over two matches in eight total sets against Fairleigh Dickinson and Princeton. The STAC junior outside hitter also held a .284 hitting percentage in that span.
Schwarz (Mainz, Germany) accumulated 30 kills, a serve assist, a service ace, 16 digs, and three block assists over two matches in eight total sets against the Knights and Tigers. The STAC freshman opposite hitter also held a .225 hitting percentage in that time period.
STAC (2-7) visits Sacred Heart University on Friday, February 6 for a 7:00 p.m. match at the William H Pitt Athletic & Convocation Center in Fairfield, Connecticut.
