The East Coast Conference announced its 2026 Men’s Volleyball All-Conference honorees and major award winners on Thursday morning ahead of this weekend’s ECC Men’s Volleyball Championship. St. Thomas Aquinas College junior outside hitter earned the Player of the Year honors, along with All-Conference accolades. All voting was completed by the league’s four head coaches.

Versteegen, a five-time Player of the Week, led both the Spartans and the ECC with 4.05 kills per set, ranking third in the NCAA. He also led the conference in total points (389.5 - #1 STAC) and kills (340 - #1 STAC), while ranking eighth in total blocks (56 - #3 STAC).

The Sittard, Netherlands native was also the team leader in hitting percenting (.257) and total attacks (797), while also ranking in the top 5 on his squad in total receptions (405 - #2), total block assists (51 - #2), blocks per set (0.67 - #3, total service aces (19 - #3), service aces per set (0.23 - #3), total serve assists (30 - #4), total digs (105 - #4), total solo blocks (5 - #4) and digs per set (1.25 - #5).

The 2026 ECC Men’s Volleyball Championship begins Friday, April 24, with No. 4 American International (2-20, 0-6 ECC) facing No. 1 Roberts Wesleyan (18-10, 5-1 ECC) at 1 p.m., followed by No. 3 Dominican (7-17, 3-3 ECC) taking on No. 2 St. Thomas Aquinas (11-13, 4-2 ECC) at 4 p.m. The winners will meet for the ECC title on Saturday at 2 p.m.
