St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Volleyball player David Weiss was named the East Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, following the Spartans straight sets sweep of Long Island University last Thursday evening at the Spartan Athletic Complex.

Weiss (Oyten, Germany) racked up six kills, two service aces, a pair of digs and six block assists in 3-0 home sweep of the LIU Sharks.

STAC (4-7) heads to Western New York for matches against D'Youville University and Daemen University on February 20 (7:00 p.m.) and 21 (1:00 p.m.).
