Men's Volleyball Drops 3-0 Decision At George Mason

Fairfax, Va. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Volleyball team headed south for the weekend, to play a pair of matches in the George Mason University Uvaldo Acosta Memorial Tournament at the Recreation Athletic Complex. In the opener on Friday evening, the host Patriots continued to dominate at home, winning their 15th straight contest at the RAC, with a 3-0 sweep of the Spartans.

STAC slips to 3-4 on the season, while George Mason improves to 4-3.

How it Happened

  • As a team, George Mason recorded 36 kills compared to STAC's 26. The Patriots also had 8 blocks and 32 assists, while the Spartans tallied 5.5 blocks and 24 assists.
  • George Mason University outhit St. Thomas Aquinas College by a .250 to .113 margin for the match.
  • Gabriel Vieira led the Spartans offense with 14 kills. He also had three digs and three block assists.
  • Marcus Franck tallied 15 serve assists (5.0 assists/set). Franck also accumulated two kills and four digs for the maroon and gold.
  • Anthony Fedor recorded three kills, an assist, two digs and a solo block on the evening.
  • Nicholas Santos put together a three kill, one assist, two dig and two block assist effort against the Patriots.
