St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Volleyball players Kyran Versteegen, Thomas Santos, Gabriel Vieira and Joaquin La Jara were each selected for the East Coast Conference's weekly honors on Monday, following the Spartans 3-0 road shutout victory of American International College last Saturday.

Versteegen was tabbed as the ECC Player of the Week, while Santos took home Defensive Player of the Week, Vieira earned Rookie of the Week and La Jara appeared on honor roll.

Kyran Versteegan (Sittard, Netherlands) recorded a .607 hitting percentage in the Spartans’ 3-0 conference victory over the Yellow Jackets last weekend. The St. Thomas Aquinas freshman totaled 20 kills, a service ace, five digs, and two block assists across three sets. 

Thomas Santos (Miami, Fla.) totaled 10 digs alongside one kill and one assist in a 3-0 victory at American International last weekend.

Gabriel Vieira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) recorded a .429 hitting percentage in a 3-0 conference win over AIC last weekend. The St. Thomas Aquinas freshman totaled 12 kills, two digs, and six block assists across three sets and led all nominated rookies in total points (15.0), points per set (5.00), kills per set (4.00), and blocks per set (2.00). 

Joaquin La Jara (Lima, Peru) La Jara totaled 32 assists (10.6 assists per set) and five digs in a 3-0 conference victory over American International.

STAC (5-11, 2-1 ECC) visits Long Island University (LIU) on Friday, March 15 for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference matchup at the Steinberg Wellness Center in Brooklyn, New York.
