Philadelphia, Pa. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Tennis team opened its 2025 fall campaign with a 6-1 victory over Chestnut Hill College on Monday afternoon at the Chestnut Hill College Tennis Courts.
STAC moves to 1-0 on the year, while Chestnut Hill falls to 0-2.
St. Thomas Aquinas began the afternoon by taking two out of three doubles matches, as Nathan Yacar & Lorenzo Meschini took victory over Ewan Brown & Siddharth Malik at No. 3 to set the tempo. Then team of Nagamitsu Kuroda & Don Vinz Lominoque would clinch the all important point for the maroon and gold with a triumph over Noah Cutting & Pablo Cervera at the No. 1 position. The Griffins pair of Augustin Daubannay & Alessio Lefebvre avoided the clean sweep by besting Henry Ronnberg & Theo Renoux at No. 2.
Already up 1-0, the Spartans would settle the match with five straight victories, as No. 5 Henry Ronnberg bested Augustin Daubannay, No. 6 Alberto Espinosa Navarro defeated Ewan Brown, No. 2 Theo Renoux downed Pablo Cervera to clinch the team win, No. 4 Ondrej Sramek beat Filippo Relecom and No. 1 Lorenzo Meschini won over Alessio Lefebvre, before Chestnut Hill's No. 3 Enzo Puppo broke the maroon and gold singles win streak with triumph against Erik Victor Tauson to close out the day's events.
