Lorenzo Meschini has been named the ECC Men's Tennis Player of the Week, while Nagamitsu Kuroda was selected for Rookie of the Week honors on Tuesday, following the Spartans pair of 7-0 road victories over Daemen University last weekend.
Meschini (Rome, Italy) went 2-0 to help lead St. Thomas Aquinas to a pair of 7-0 wins over the Wildcats in its ECC opener this past weekend. The STAC sophomore picked up a pair of singles victories, first defeating Alex Lumanog via retirement, 6-0, 1-0 (Ret.) at No. 2 on Saturday. He then went on to beat Juan Alvarez, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 on Sunday.
Kuroda (Tokyo, Japan) went 3-0 to help lead the Spartans to a pair of 7-0 wins over Daemen in their ECC opener this past weekend. The STAC freshman, with partner Don Vinz Lominoque, defeated Rohan Chitanand and Lucas Garcia at No. 2 doubles, 6-2, on Saturday and then took down Juan Alvarez and Alex Lumanog at No. 1 doubles, 6-3, on Sunday. Nagamitsu also defeated Lucas Garcia at No. 3 singles on Saturday, 6-3, 6-3.
