Sramek Named Rookie of the Year and Rockhill Coach of the Year, As Two Spartans Earn ECC Men's Tennis All-Conference Honors

St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Tennis players Tobias Fuerschuss and Ondrej Sramek were named ECC All-Conference selections on Thursday, as the league revealed its annual awards, voted on by the conference's coaches. In addition, Sramek was named the ECC Men's Tennis Rookie of the Year, while Head Coach Dan Rockhill was selected as the Coach of the Year, in a vote by his peers.

After earning every ECC Rookie of the Week honor throughout the regular season, Sramek (Trebechovice pod Orebem, Czech Republic) was selected as the conference’s Rookie of the Year. Sramek tied Henricy for the most singles wins of any ECC student-athlete with an 18-3 record. He added a 14-6 record in doubles. Sramek was nearly unstoppable in conference play. In his first season at the helm of the maroon and gold, Rockhill led the Spartans to a 17-1 overall record and a 5-1 mark in conference play to earn a share of the ECC Regular Season Championship.

Meanwhile, Fuerschuss (Bregenz, Austria) racked up a 14-3 singles record, while adding a 17-7 mark in doubles. The graduate student was almost unbeatable in conference play, as he was a perfect 3-0 in singles and went 5-1 in doubles play.
