Sparkill, N.Y. - On Wednesday, the NCAA released its first Men's and Women's Regional polls, with both St. Thomas Aquinas College teams holding spots in their respective East rankings.
On the women's side, the Lady Spartans possess the #3 position in the East, STAC currently holds a 17-2 (4-1 ECC) record with victories over New Haven, Jefferson, Le Moyne, Daemen, D'Youville, Queens, Dominican, West Chester, Molloy, Edinboro, Quincy, Rockhurst, Bentley, Division I Merrimack, Wilmington, Chestnut Hill and USciences. The team's only defeats come at the hands of UDC in the regular season and Queens College in the ECC Tournament.
Meanwhile, the Spartan men's squad is ranked #5 in the region. St. Thomas Aquinas currently holds an 11-7 (2-2 ECC) record with victories over Jefferson, U. Sciences, West Chester, Saint Michael's, Manhattanville, Adelphi, Edinboro, Quincy, Bentley, District of Columbia and Daemen. The team's blemishes come via Division I opponents, Fairleigh Dickinson and North Dakota, along with Rockhurst, Queens (2), Chestnut Hill and Le Moyne.
