The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Soccer team has been ranked #7 in the latest United Soccer Coaches East Region poll, which was released on Tuesday afternoon.
Last week's 2-2 road tie against at the College of Staten Island and 2-1 come from behind home victory over D'Youville University has STAC sitting with a 6-2-2 overall record, and a perfect 1-0-2 ECC mark.
The Spartans are currently being led by Kevon Evans (Sr./Forward/Ossining, N.Y.) - 10 goals and 4 assists for 24 points, Francisco Degiorgi (Fr./Back & Midfield/Lisbon Portugal) - 1 goal and 4 assists for 6 points, Yahir Hernandez (Jr./Midfield/Yonkers, N.Y.) - 1 goal and 4 assists for 6 points and Uhunoma Fredrick-Ilekhuoba (Sr./Forward/Lagos Nigeria) - 3 goals and 0 assists for 6 points.
In the net, keeper Johan Morales (Jr./Norristown, Pa.) leads the way for STAC, posting a 2-1-2 record in six matches (6 starts), with a 1.41 goals against average, a .789 save percentage and two shutouts. Teammate Dalton Houser (So./Lakeland, Fla.) holds a 4-1-0 mark in five matches (3 starts), with a 1.62 goals against average and .696 save percentage.
The team's offense currently averages 2.30 goals per game, while the defense and goaltending gives up an average of 1.50 goals per contest.
STAC hits the road, visiting Roberts Wesleyan University on Saturday, October 12. The Spartans and Redhawks will do battle as part of an ECC doubleheader with the men's squads following the women's teams at 3:30 p.m.
