Goaltender Michael Pippo of the St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Ice Hockey team has been named the MCHC Metropolitan Division Player of the Month, following the Spartans 3-0-0 conference mark over the months of November and December.
Pippo (New Rochelle, N.Y.) went 2-0-0 in two MCHC starts for the maroon and gold, while recording a 1.00 goals against average and a .959 save percentage. The senior netminder also posted a 12-save shutout against the United States Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point) in an 8-0 road victory on December 6.
STAC (12-3-2, 8-0 MCHC) returns to action in the new year, hosting MCHC rivals Sacred Heart University on Saturday, January 31 at Sport-O-Rama Ice Rinks. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:25 p.m.
