The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Basketball team has been ranked No. 8 in the East Region in the latest NCAA Division II Men's Basketball poll, released on Wednesday afternoon. Following STAC's sweep of East Coast Conference contests last week against Molloy University and Queens College, the Spartans have locked up the second seed in the upcoming ECC Men's Basketball Tournament and holds a strong 16-11 overall record and a 12-3 mark in the conference, with one regular season contest left to play.

Around the ECC, Daemen University holds the No. 1 position in this week's table, with the College of Staten Island on the outside looking in at No. 9.

Eight teams will be represent the East Region in this season's NCAA Tournament, with automatic bids going to tournament champions from the East Coast Conference (ECC), Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), and the Northeast-10 Conference (NE10), and the remaining five berths being awarded on an at-large basis. Daemen (ECC) sits atop this week's poll with Felician University (CACC), Bentley University (NE10) and Saint Anselm College (NE10) rounding out the top four.

STAC closes out its 2025-2026 regular season schedule at Mercy University on Saturday, February 28. The maroon and gold have already earned a bye into the semifinal round of the East Coast Conference Men's Basketball Tournament, which will be held at Lumsden Gymnasium on the campus of Daemen University on March 7-8. Following the crowning of a champion by the ECC, NCAA brackets and locations will be announced for regional tournament play, which takes place March 14-17, with the Elite Eight quarterfinals and semifinals to be held from March 25-27 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Division II will then crown a National Champion on April 5 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
