Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Basketball team saw its three-game win streak halted on Sunday afternoon, as No. 3 NABC Nationally ranked Daemen University powered their way to a 79-60 victory at Aquinas Hall Gymnasium.

STAC slips to 6-4 overall and 3-1 in ECC action, while Daemen remains perfect on the year at 12-0 and 4-0.

Derrick James posted a team-high 11 points for the Spartans, while Jordan Green (10 points) also scored in double figures. For the visiting Wildcats, Zach Philipkoski led all scorers with 18 points.

St. Thomas Aquinas shot 35.7 percent (20-56) from the field, while Daemen shot 48.3 percent (29-60) from the floor.

STAC NOTES AND HIGHLIGHTS:

• Ten Spartans logged double-digit minutes in the contest.
• Derrick James led the maroon and gold with three assists on the afternoon.
• James hit 3 of his 10 field goal attempts and 4-of-7 free throws. Jordan Green went 4-for-7 from the floor and 2-of-4 from the foul line.
• Daemen out-rebounded STAC by a 47-29 margin, with William Landram II grabbing a team-high five boards for the Spartans.
• St. Thomas Aquinas swiped six steals, with the Wildcats turning the ball over on 13 separate occasions.
• The Spartans earned one advantage in the team statistical categories over Daemen: Bench Points (19-12).
• The game featured no ties and no lead changes.
• St. Thomas Aquinas trailed Daemen 41-25 at the half and shot 50.0 percent (14-28) from the field.
• Jordan Green led all Spartans' scorers with six first half points, while shooting 75.0 percent (3-of-4) from the floor.

DAEMEN NOTES AND HIGHLIGHTS:

• Seven Wildcats logged double-digit minutes in the contest. 
• Zach Philipkoski led Daemen with 18 points, while teammates Justin Glover (17 points), Ryan Heath (12 points), Phil Nwugwo (10 points) and Justin Hemphill (10 points) also scored in double figures.
• Glover and Philipkoski led Daemen with five assists apiece on the day.
• Philipkoski went 6-for-14 from the floor and 5-of-7 from the charity stripe. Glover connected on 5-of-12 field goal attempts, with 3-of-6 going in from long distance.
• Hemphill also grabbed a team-high 13 boards for the Wildcats.
• Daemen picked up six steals, with the Spartans turning the ball over on 12 separate occasions.
• The Wildcats earned advantages in three key team statistical categories over St. Thomas Aquinas: Points off Turnovers (14-13), Points in the Paint (42-18) and Fastbreak Points (14-3).
• Daemen had its largest lead of the game (26 points) with just over11 and a half minutes to play in the contest, 61-35, on a Zach Philipkoski layup.
• Justin Glover led all scorers at the half with 12 points for the Wildcats, with Glover shooting 66.7 percent (4-of-6) from the field and 75.0 percent (3-of-4) from beyond the arc.
• Daemen's best shooting half came in the opening stanza, with the Wildcats shooting 50.0 percent (14-28) from the field.
