Staten Island, N.Y. - Despite receiving double-digit point totals from four players on Wednesday evening, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Basketball team dropped a 95-85 decision to the College of Staten Island at Sports and Recreation Center.
STAC slips to 7-10 overall and 4-2 in ECC action, while CSI improves to 13-5 and 4-2.
Joshua Michigan posted a team-high 21 points for the Spartans, while Derrick James (18 points), Starrell Hearns (16 points) and Brennan Chatman (11 points) also scored in double figures. For the host Dolphins, Aaron Goldstein led all scorers with 36 points.
St. Thomas Aquinas shot 47.7 percent (31-65) from the field and 73.9 percent (17-23) from the charity stripe, while Staten Island shot 49.3 percent (33-67) from the floor and 85.0 percent (17-20) from the foul line.
STAC NOTES AND HIGHLIGHTS:

- Derrick James led all Spartans' scorers with nine first half points, while shooting 66.7 percent (4-of-6) from the field.
- STAC's best shooting half came in the second stanza, with the Spartans shooting 50.0 percent (17-34) from the field and 75.0 percent (6-8) from the foul line.
STATEN ISLAND NOTES AND HIGHLIGHTS:

- Aaron Goldstein led Staten Island with 36 points, while teammates Asa Kone (13 points), Andrew Benedict (13 points) and JJ Chestnut (12 points) also scored in double figures.

- Goldstein went 13-for-23 from the floor, 7-of-13 from beyond the arc and 3-of-3 from the charity stripe. Kone connected on 5-of-6 field goal attempts and 3-of-4 free throws.
- Kone and Joey Poulin grabbed a team-high six boards apiece for the Dolphins.
- Staten Island picked up eight steals, with the Spartans turning the ball over on 12 separate occasions.
- The Dolphins earned advantages in two key team statistical categories over St. Thomas Aquinas: Second Chance Points (10-3) and Bench Points (21-17).
- Staten Island had its largest lead of the game (12 points) with just under ten minutes to play in the contest, 77-65, on an Aaron Goldstein free throw as part of a three-point play.
- Aaron Goldstein led all scorers at the half with 14 points for the Dolphins, with Glover shooting 55.6 percent (5-of-9) from the field and 50.0 percent (4-of-8) from beyond the arc.
- Staten Island's best shooting half came in the opening stanza, with the Dolphins shooting 50.0 percent (17-34) from the field and 66.7 percent (6-9) from the foul line.
