St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Basketball player Sean Moore was named the East Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, following the Spartans sweep of contests over the University of the District of Columbia (113-73) and the College of Staten Island (94-74) to close the 2021-22 regular season last week.
Moore averaged 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game over two games last week. He also helped the Spartans force 13.5 turnovers per game. The red-shirt freshman guard/forward from Reynoldsburg, Ohio recorded seven rebounds and three steals against District of Columbia, then eight rebounds and two steals at Staten Island.
STAC (24-4, 17-1 ECC) has earned a bye into the semifinal round of the ECC Men's Basketball Tournament, which will be held at Aquinas Hall Gym, next Saturday, March 5. The top-seeded Spartans will tip-off at noon against the winner of #4 Queens College vs. #5 Roberts Wesleyan College. The two will battle on Wednesday evening, March 2 in the tourney's first round games.
