St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Basketball player Demetre Roberts has been named as a Second Team All-East Region selection by the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA).
Roberts helped lead the Spartans to an East Coast Conference Regular Season Championship and postseason tournament crown in 2021-22, averaging 16.2 points per game and 4.2 assists per game, with NCAA Division II Tournament games still to play. In recognition of his outstanding senior season, the senior guard from Mount Vernon, NY was also named an ECC First Team All-Conference selection.
In Roberts' outstanding four-year career to date, he has amassed 1,528 points, 312 rebounds, 401 assists, and 149 steals in 107 games played, while being a part of two ECC Regular Season Championships, three ECC Tournament titles and four straight NCAA Division II Tourney appearances.
Demetre has also garnered several awards and accolades since arriving in Sparkill, including; (3) ECC First Team All-Conference Selections, (1) ECC Second Team All Conference Honor, (1) D2CCA Second Team All-Region Selection, (2) NABC All-East District Accolades and most recently the ECC's Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament. Roberts is also a nominee for All-Met honors, with those distinctions to be determined in the coming weeks.
