Spartans' Singleton Selected As Met Basketball Writers D2 Player of the Week

St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Basketball player Grant Singleton was named the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Division II Player of the Week on Tuesday, following the Spartans 2-0 week on the hardwood.

Singleton, who was also named the ECC Co-Player of the Week on Monday, averaged 24.0 points in victories by the Spartans over Molloy and Mercy last week. He shot 65.5% (19-of-29) from the field and 50% (6-of-12) from three, while adding 2.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists.

In defeating Molloy College 92-76 on the road, the junior guard from Sumter, S.C., dropped 27 points, grabbed four rebounds and four assists, while connecting on 52.4% (11-of-21) of his shots from the field.
 
Then, in a 119-77 home victory over Mercy, Grant scored 21 points in just 18 minutes on the court. He was perfect from the field (8-of-8) and from beyond the arc (3-of-3).

STAC (3-0) hits the road for a weekend pair at Roberts Wesleyan College before closing out their season series at Mercy on Wednesday, February 17. Their next home games are Saturday and Sunday, February 20 and 21, against Molloy College.
