Freshman forward Clemence Papleux of the St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Field Hockey team has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Field Hockey Rookie of the Week, following the Spartans 1-0 week on the pitch with a road match against Molloy University.
Papleux (Braine-I'Alleud, Belgium) tallied a hat trick on seven shots, including the overtime game winner on a penalty stroke, in STAC's 3-2 road victory over the Lions on Saturday. All three goals came unanswered and in the game's final 15 minutes, helping the Spartans come from behind to win.
STAC (3-6, 2-2 NE10) hosts Pace University on Tuesday (October 7) in a 3:30 p.m. NE10 tilt at Spartan Field.
