STAC Field Hockey Shut Out By Saint Anselm

Manchester, N.H. - Kicking off a two-game New England road trip, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Field Hockey team suffered an 8-0 defeat at the hands of No. 10 nationally ranked Saint Anselm College on Tuesday afternoon at Grappone Stadium in New Hampshire.

STAC falls to 3-9 overall and 2-5 in NE10 action, while Saint Anselm improves to 9-5 and 6-2.

Breanna Shorey tallied a pair of goals for Hawks, while teammates Marissa Politano, Meghan Smith, Leila Härtel, Audrey Payeur, Alexa Garthee and Meghan Carey also added to the hosts' totals on the scoreboard with a goal apiece. In the cage, Mackenzie Wehrum (W, 7-3) got the start in goal for Saint Anselm and had to stop just three total shots over 60 minutes of action to earn the shutout victory.

Ailsa Ogilvie (L, 3-8) got the start in the cage for the Spartans and made 17 stops on 25 shots.
