On Tuesday, St. Thomas Aquinas College Director of Athletics Nicole Ryan announced the promotion of Genesis Pacheco to Assistant Director of Athletics/Fitness Center Manager.

Pacheco, who will also continue in her role as the Spartan Field Hockey Head Coach, will now be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Kraus Fitness Center, including event scheduling, fitness classes and the cleaning/upkeep of the center, along with other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Director of Athletics.

"We are happy to add Genesis to our full-time staff", said Director of Athletics Nicole Ryan. "Her hard work and commitment to the college have been evident in her success and we look forward to all that she will bring to our team."

Pacheco, in her fourth season at the helm of the Women's Field Hockey program, earned a B.S. in early childhood education from Keystone College in 2017.

Genesis is also a current member of the Puerto Rican Women's Field Hockey National team and has 27 international caps in her playing career.

"Starting as an Assistant Field Hockey coach, then being elevated to Head Coach and now to be promoted to an Assistant Athletic Director is quite an honor", stated Pacheco. "I am overjoyed and grateful to Athletic Director Nicole Ryan and her staff for giving me this opportunity. I cannot wait to start this new journey in my career, while I am also excited to get back onto the field with my team for the 2021 season."
