Hillburn, N.Y. - After eight weeks of competition on the gridiron, the 2025 St. Thomas Aquinas College Sprint Football Season came to an end on Friday evening with a 41-0 loss to Chestnut Hill College at the Torne Valley Sports Complex in the Lower Hudson Valley.
STAC closed out its campaign going 2-6 overall and 2-2 within the CSFL North Division. Meanwhile, Chestnut Hill closes its season at 5-3 and 2-1.
Prior to the contest, the Spartans honored both its Sprint Football and Cheerleading graduating senior classes; Nickolas Simonetta, Ibrahim Conteh, Ethan Hence, Daniel Mcleish, Valentina Avellino, Jaime Lyn Foster, Victoria Herera and Meghan Kelly with on-field ceremonies, which included the athletes' families, friends, teammates, coaches and college administrators.
STAC HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES
- Nickolas Simonetta the Spartans offense with three receptions totaling 29 yards. Simonetta's longest catch and run went for 16 yards.
- Damari Hamilton garnered 10 rushing attempts for 23 total yards.
- Starting quarterback Tynez Harp completed 6 of 18 passes, for 33 yards, while also throwing two interceptions.
- Brandon Jimenez registered 12 total tackles (7 solo, 5 assist), with Ethan Hence right behind him at 10 total tackles (6 solo, 4 assist) for the maroon and gold.
- Armando Medley picked off Griffins QB Anthony Cancellare in the second quarter.
