St. Thomas Aquinas College Baseball Pitcher Aaron Dona was named the East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday, following the Spartans five-game week on the diamond, which included a series split with ECC foes Molloy University.
Dona (Gloversville, N.Y.) earned his fourth win of the season, hurling a complete game shutout for STAC against Molloy in a 1-0, 7-inning victory. The righty went the distance, allowing only two hits and two walks, while sending down 10 Lions hitters via strikeout.
St. Thomas Aquinas (17-17, 11-5 ECC) opens a five-game series with NE10 opponents, the University of New Haven, on Wednesday, April 19 at Frank Vieira Field. First pitch between the Spartans and Chargers is set for 3:00 p.m in West Haven, Conn.
