St. Thomas Aquinas College outfielder Anthony Maisano has signed a contract with the Florence Y'alls of the Frontier League on Tuesday afternoon, following the conclusion of his collegiate career with the Spartans at the NCAA Division II East Regional Baseball Tournament.
Maisano put together a solid 2021 season for STAC, posting a .295 batting average, with 10 doubles, two triples, a home run, 25 RBI, 35 runs scored and 19 stolen bases in 33 games played for the Spartans
Over his terrific five-year career (2017-2021) in maroon and gold, Maisano amassed a .290 average with 35 doubles, eight triples, three home runs, 82 RBI and 122 runs scored over 181 games. The Staten Island, N.Y. native also swiped 62 bases in 79 attempts.
Maisano played an crucial role in the success of the St. Thomas Aquinas College Baseball team during his time in Sparkill, as he was a member of the 2017, '18 and '21 ECC Regular Season Champion teams and won an ECC Tournament title in 2018. He was also a participant in three NCAA Division II East Region Tournaments (2017, '18 and '21) and helped capture the 2017 East Region crown and a trip to the NCAA Division II finals, where the team finished third overall in the country.
Anthony Maisano joins fellow 2021 teammates Angelo Baez (New Jersey Jackals - Frontier League) and Alex Mack (Trenton Thunder - MLB Draft League) in signing professional baseball contracts this spring/summer.
