St. Thomas Aquinas College pitcher Alex Mack has been selected to participate in Major League Baseball's 2021 Draft League, following the conclusion of his collegiate career with the Spartans at the NCAA Division II East Regional Baseball Tournament.

Mack will report to the Trenton Thunder, who will play their draft league schedule out of Sonny Pittaro Field on the campus of Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J. for this season due to the Buffalo Bisons (AAA-Toronto) move to the Thunder's regular home, Arm and Hammer Park. The Bison's home ballpark, Sahlen Field is currently being used by the Toronto Blue Jays, as cross-border COVID-19 restrictions continue between Canada and the United States.

The MLB Draft League allows for current draft-eligible prospects to participate from Division I, Division 2, Division 3, NAIA, Junior College and High School. Players will receive unprecedented visibility to MLB Club scouts through both in-person observation and state-of-the-art scouting technology, and educational programming designed to prepare them for careers as professional athletes. The 2021 MLB Draft will take place on Sunday, July 11.

Alex Mack put together a spectacular 2021 season for STAC, posting a 7-1 record with a 1.61 ERA in 10 appearances (10 starts). In 67 innings pitched, he surrendered 48 hits and 15 runs (12 earned), while walking 8 and K'ing 81 opposing batters.

Over his six-year career (2016-2021) in maroon and gold, the Cornwall, N.Y. native amassed a 11-7 mark with a 3.40 earned run average in 47 appearances (25 starts).

Mack played an integral role in the success of the St. Thomas Aquinas College Baseball team during his time in Sparkill, as he was a member of the 2016, '17 '18 and '21 ECC Regular Season Champion teams and won an ECC Tournament title in 2018. He was also a participant in three NCAA Division II East Region Tournaments (2016, '17, '18 and '21) and helped capture the 2017 East Region crown and a trip to the NCAA Division II finals, where the team finished third overall in the country.

Alex's individual awards, honors and accolades were numerous during his final year as a Spartan in 2021, including:
