Mack Named D2CCA East Region Pitcher of the Year, Versage Takes Home All-Region Honors

On Wednesday, the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association released their All-East Region selections for the 2021 season.

St. Thomas Aquinas College's Alex Mack was named the D2CCA East Region Pitcher of the Year. In addition, Mack and teammate James Versage were named D2CCA All-Region First Team selections.

Alex Mack (Gr./SP/Cornwall, N.Y.), in the final year of his spectacular collegiate career, posts a 7-0 record in nine appearances for St. Thomas Aquinas in 2021. Alex holds a 1.48 ERA with 73 strike outs, and became one of the East Region's best trios on the mound, along with fellow teammates Aaron Dona and Angelo Baez in the starting rotation. Mack has racked up many post season awards and accolades to date, including ECC Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-Conference honors, as well as NCBWA East Region Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-Region accolades.

James Versage (Sr./OF/Cape May Court House, N.J.) in the last year of a stellar career with the Spartans, holds a .340 batting average (35-for-103), with 12 doubles, five homers, 35 RBI and 31 runs scored in 30 contests. Versage was also named ECC All-Conference First Team and NCBWA Second Team All-Region selections.
